ERWorks Ltd has successfully completed IRATA Level 1 Rope Access Technician training at Belay Ropes Ltd in Newhaven. The programme covered safe rigging, equipment inspection, work positioning, and rescue drills—building practical competence to operate efficiently and safely in challenging environments.

This investment was driven by the need to access National Rail infrastructure for specialist site operations while protecting our workforce and keeping residual risk as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP). Training to the IRATA International standard ensures our teams follow proven techniques and robust supervision practices when working at height or in difficult-to-reach locations.

Rope access offers a controlled, low-impact way to reach bridges, embankments, cuttings, platforms, structures and other remote rail assets. Compared with scaffolding or heavy plant, it typically enables faster mobilisation, smaller site footprints, and reduced disruption to railway operations. Our methodology aligns with statutory rail requirements and site rules, including clear RAMS, rescue planning, equipment traceability, and competence management.

With this capability in place, ERWorks can provide a range of specialist services on rail assets—whether inspections, surveying, maintenance tasks, or other technical works—without the need to specify the exact discipline in advance. The result is safer access, shorter setup times and improved programme certainty for clients operating in complex rail environments.

If you need safe, compliant access solutions for hard-to-reach areas on the railway, please get in touch with the ERWorks team. We’ll tailor a rope access plan that integrates with your possession or access arrangements and supports your wider project objectives.
